ISAAC'S STORY
Isaac Mather uses his story of pain and setbacks to create raw and emotion-filled music. His songs speak for the ones who have felt unheard and misunderstood in the midst of their own hurt. Isaac didn’t have a “normal” childhood. He was bedridden at the age of 10 from complications associated with Lyme Disease and two Co-Infections. Over the next seven years, there were many ups and downs and Isaac began to struggle with a whole host of chronic health issues including; Tourette Syndrome, OCD, a brain inflammation, CIDP, and an Auto Immune Disorder.
Many mental health issues were brought on from this pain, and depression was closer than ever to him. Isaac and his family sought every path to healing, including traveling to NYC for a week each month for 6 months for an extreme treatment called Plasmapheresis. While receiving this treatment, he had to undergo 18 months of an additional treatment called IVIG with a home nurse. There were many days he would not be able to get out of bed, he began to lose the ability to sit in a chair because the pain in his legs was so bad. But he didn’t let that stop him. He brought his laptop into his bed and made music while receiving the treatments despite the pain to keep his dream alive.
Isaac daily lives with his Tourette’s; however, God has brought much healing to his life both physically and mentally. Since the release of his song “Somebody To Know,” Isaac has gained a substantial following on social media and uses it to relate with and impact people through his art.
